Born on the World Cup, destined for your local trails. We poured World Championship-winning engineering into developing an all-new alloy for these Control wheels. To increase the new material's durability, we customized our shot peening process—where metal projectiles are shot at the alloy to increase its strength—meeting the precise demands of our XC riders. If that wasn't enough, to eliminate creaking and reduce weight, individually customized sleeves are chosen to bond every single rim. The result is a wildly over-engineered, trail-ripping, best-of-the-best, aluminum wheel; held to the same standards as our highest-end Control SL carbon components. Whether you are looking for a solid set of training wheels that will handle it all or a big upgrade from entry-level wheels, Roval Control Alloy is the go-to wheel. The Roval SLX 24 Disc is a no nonsense wheelset. At only around 1515 grams, it's designed for light overall weight, but this doesn't mean that it sacrifices anything to strength or durability. Instead, its 20mm-wide alloy rims work to bolster the aforementioned characteristics, while also providing the optimal tire profile in order to enhance both confidence and feel on the road. Meanwhile, the rims have been built to Roval aero hubs that feature fast-engaging DT 350 star-ratchet internals at the rear. Add it all up, and you get a wheelset that checks all of the boxes for daily training and CX racing—lightweight, stiff, and incredibly reliable.

Recent advancements have made carbon fiber nearly equal in strength to aluminum, but these innovative technologies typically come at a high price. For when durability, strength, and budget are the top three things on your wheel search list, nothing beats aluminum as the material of choice. With this in mind, we set out to create an alloy wheelset that features many of the desired qualities found in a carbon wheel, such as low weight, stiffness, and good looks, but with the durability to train and race both on and off road. In the end, our SLX 24 wheelset came out as a lightweight, durable wheelset that’s ready for whatever you throw at it. The wide profile of the SLX 24 is what really sets them apart from others in the same weight category. Most wheels in this category feature a much narrower internal width, a flaw that impairs a proper tire/rim match. But the 20mm internal rim width of the SLX 24s have them pair nicely with road and 'cross tires alike. This match allows for lower rolling resistance due to the ability to run lower pressures and wider tires. Lower pressures with wider tires and rims is somewhat of a new concept, but can greatly improve ride quality and performance. Wide rims allow for more air volume in the tire, and with more air, less pressure is needed to have the same resistance to pinch flats, providing you with a more supple ride without the risk of flats both on and off-road. On the performance side of things, less pressure equates to less rolling resistance via the tire soaking up road imperfections rather than bouncing over them. When too much pressure is in a tire, without realizing it, your bike will ever-so-slightly spring over road imperfections, wasting precious watts—but lower pressures soak up these bumps and keep use your power strictly for forward movement. Less pressure also greatly improves grip, inspiring confidence when the road gets twisty. Even with a budget-friendly price in mind, we made sure not to compromise quality with the build components of our SLX 24. The use of quality alloy sets the tone for the rest of the build, quality, and with this, we start with the 24-millimeter-deep rims that offer both low weight and great durability, and hand-lace them to the same aero (AF) hubs that you find on our top-end carbon models via 20/24 DT Swiss Competition spokes—resulting in a respectable 1495-gram wheelset. Building wheels by hand is a practice that's becoming scarce, but being fully invested in making the best wheels means that we know hand-built wheels provide a level of quality unmatched by machines. Machines miss little discrepancies that humans catch, and these are the flaws that make the difference between a good and a prestigious wheelset. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense wheelset that you can race and train on with equal aplomb, without worrying about reliability, look no further than our SLX 24 wheelset.

The Arch MK4 is the wheelset a lot of us here at Stan's choose to ride. All-mountain, Downcountry, Trailduro—whatever they're calling it this week, when you like pushing your limits on climbs, descents, and every kind of trail, this is your wheelset. The Arch MK4's 28mm internal width and patented lightweight, low-profile design is not afraid to climb, while being an absolute monster on the descents. With a welded seam, reinforced spoke bed, and durable 6069 aluminum construction, the Arch MK4 rims give you the confidence to ride everything. When it comes to a consistent and reliable airtight tubeless seal, nothing beats Stan's patented Bead Socket Technology. The Arch MK4 rims feature an asymmetric design with offset spoke holes to improve spoke angle and create a stronger all-around wheel. Unlike most asymmetric rims that suffer from difficult inflation and poor tubeless performance, Stan's BST-Asymmetric design delivers all the advantages of a stronger wheel, with no compromises in tubeless performance. Nobody likes downtime, so the Arch MK4 wheelset is built with traditional J-bend spokes based on their proven strength, ride quality, and easy serviceability. Stan's has always made it easy to find replacement spokes should you ever damage your wheel, and now we've made it even easier. MK4 front and rear wheels of the same diameter all use the exact same very common spoke length, both sides, front and rear. Serviceability doesn't get any easier than that. From the first click of the incredible M-pulse hubs, it's clear that confidence is the philosophy behind every part of this wheelset. Designed and CNC machined by Project321 in Bend, Oregon, M-pulse freehubs feature 6 pawls with Neodymium magnets that lock into place with greater force than conventional pawl springs, but offer virtually no resistance when coasting. Multiple teeth on each pawl offer better load distribution for years of trouble-free riding, and the angle of the pawls was engineered to transfer stress away from the rotating bearings, decreasing stress and wear on the entire freehub. That durability extends to the 17mm axles machined of 7075 aluminum and the full complement of Enduro brand bearings, including a double-row freehub bearing. M-pulse internals are also fully shielded inside the hub, because the only thing better than a good bearing seal is a good bearing seal most dirt can't even reach. As durable as they are, these hubs are also built for speed. M-pulse hubs engage with only 1.66°of rotation, putting down power nearly instantaneously, but how smooth these hubs roll is what really stands out. Adjustable preload allows you to fine tune M-pulse hubs for reduced friction, and less drag means more speed on the ground. The result is a bombproof hub with quick, consistent engagement and less resistance for more speed. Available with Shimano Micro Spline, HG, or SRAM XDR freehub, and 6-bolt or Centerlock brake style, with options to fit all popular axle configurations. Tubeless ready with rim tape installed. The Arch MK4 is our most versatile wheelset, and the best aluminum wheelset available for riders who want to push limits on every trail. Up, down, and wherever the ride takes you, the Arch MK4 wheelset has it under control. - Arch MK4 wheels include pre-installed tape for tubeless use and presta valves. - Versatile 28mm internal rim width optimized for 2.2-2.5” tires - Light and durable 6069 aluminum with welded joint and reinforced spoke bed - BST-Asymmetric design combines Stan’s legendary easy tubeless inflation with a stronger, more balanced wheel build - M-pulse ultra-low drag magnetic pawl adjustable hubs with 1.66° engagement - Enduro bearings with double-row freehub bearing - Matched wheelsets use traditional J-bend lacing and share a single spoke length for easy serviceability - Connection program includes 5-year hub warranty, 3-year rim warranty, 1-year crash replacement, and $10 donation to trail maintenance or advocacy group of your choice
